Dr Luke Tomlinson qualified at The Nelson Mandela School of medicine in 2015 following the completion of a Bachelor of Science (majoring in physiology and psychology) degree from UCT in 2009.

His compulsory years took him to Pietermaritzburg and then onto Ngwelezana Hospital where he joined the surgical department in 2018 for one year and gained invaluable knowledge in both the management of patients as well as surgical experience. He completed his primary examinations towards a fellowship of surgery that year and was accepted to specialise in General Surgery in Bloemfontein in 2019.

However, a few months later an opportunity arose to work with one of Westville’s best known General Practitioners as he was heading towards retirement. The prospect of returning to his home town and allowing him to spend more time with his wife and two young sons was very appealing and so at the start of 2020 he began his career in general practice and hasn’t looked back since.

He enjoys all spheres of general practice and has a special interest in sports medicine, endocrinology, minor surgical procedures and aesthetic medicine.
